Vintage miniature wicker and leather bag. Vanity case, sewing box, make up bag. Super cute scale.

Constructed with wood end panels and frame, with tan leather covering. The wicker areas don’t have the wooden frame. Instead, steel wire rope/rods acts as a frame for the wicker to be plaited over and through. Really interesting construction!

The leather sections are attached to the wooden frame with gold toned dome-head rivets. The lid is hinged with a thick strip of matching leather.

The lid has a folding leather carry handle, that’s nice and round and very nice to hold! The handle is attached to the bag with square gold coloured pivoting hinges attached to heavy duty staples. They are a bit wobbly, but I’ve looked closely and it looks like the staples have opened slightly. I’ve given it a good shake and they are very solid. The gold tone has faded and has chips to the metallic coating in places.

Over the top of the lid is a chunky leather strap, with decorative metal oval that holds the strap to the lid.

There is a twist clasp to open the case. Inside is lined with an ivory coloured plastic material, attached to the wooden frame with gold toned rivets. There is a small zip compartment at the back and an open compartment at the front.
The lining is in acceptable condition, a little faded. Zip works well. Small rip to the lining at the corner of the lid. Unnoticed when closed. Approx. 4x5mm.

The case sits on four little gold toned peg feet.

The leather side panels are a little scuffed. Some of the leather is watermarked in places. The lid closes very well, but the lid looks unaligned by about 2mm. I’ve tried to show all these minor problems in the photos.

A gorgeous miniature hard case, despite it’s few flaws!
