Vintage 1950s tan leather jewellery box. Suitcase style with cantilever compartments.

Really cute little case, covered with tan leather, and with a leather carry handle attached with brass D ring and bracket.
The handle is firm and quite thick (although there is something inside it to bulk it out), but there are a few cracks appearing in the leather outer coating. The handle isn’t effected, just the leather.

There is a lock but sadly no key, although I am searching for one to fit.

When opened, the case has five visible compartments and two cushioned ring sections. The two sectioned outer compartments open with a cantilever movement to reveal a larger tray on each side.

The case is lined with a pale coffee coloured suede which is in good, unripped condition but would benefit a cleanse with a suede cleaner.

The back of the case shows signs of old damage by water. The front lid of the case has a patch where a sticky label has been removed, taking with it some of the tan pigment. The corners show wear, but there are no rips or tears to the leather and the box is in sturdy, solid condition.
