From my private collection of fish plates, this gorgeous vintage (1970s) rounded rectangular fish plate/bowl from Hampton Potteries is my favourite.

The Wolverhampton based pottery produced a series of these fish plates (I have 4 in various shapes and sizes).

This bowl has a bottle green background which looks very dark brown until you put it in to the light, then the deep green looks rich and beautiful.
The fish is a mustard and paler yellow glaze, and the lip to the bowl has mustard dots. One dot is ‘missing’, please see photos. Looks like a chip, but it’s just a missing dot.

The base is signed by the pottery.
