Large vintage mantle clock with drawer. Restoration project.

Fabulous beast of a clock. Large, heavy, dark, ornate.

The top of the clock has a chunky head piece, with a turned finial at each end. There is a protruding screw in the centre where the third finial would have been (had it not been damaged/lost).

The clock face has Roman numerals and fancy black hands. The background has a (slightly faded) printed ‘distressed’ graphic.

There are simple carved flowers to each corner of the front panel and the header.
To the front outer edges are barley twists, and the clock face is framed with a resin antique-gold coloured frame.

The drawer has a moulded decorative handle and is lined with a deep chestnut brown felt.

The problems:
1. The clock.
The minute and second hand works, but the hour hand is all floppy on the mechanism. Probably just needs tightening, but I will cause more problems than I solve if I try and fix it.

2. The condition.
Lots of knicks to the wood. Nibbles (not literally) to the corner edges of the veneer, top and bottom.
