Large handmade resin letter. Initial C.

Multilayered and mixed media cast of a large letter C. The layers are made up from crystal clear epoxy resin, with oil based pigment and copper wire, finished off with white casting plaster (stained with coffee grains). 

I have experimented with all types of resin, and found the Pebeo crystal clear epoxy resin the only one that is totally odourless. It’s a fantastic quality resin which, unfortunately makes these large letter expensive to make.

One side has flat, squared corners. The opposite edge has been hand shaped with wet and dry grades from 600-3000 to give clear rounded corners and magnified effect. Each layer of resin takes 24hrs to harden, so each letter takes 7 days to complete.

With a double sided design, this looks good in front of a mirror or on a window sill. 

As a bespoke, handmade item this has small imperfections. A finished item so please take a look at all the photos.
