Large antique wooden workshop drawers. Toolbox with 5 drawers, carry handles and lock.

Really large tool storage cabinet, having jumbo dovetail joints and side panel supports with heavy duty carry handles. Both side panels have a split that needs repairing. Still a sturdy, solid box but these could do with fixing. The back panel is made from two pieces of wood screwed to the frame. The outer screws on both ends have ripped through the panel. Please see photos. Again, a quick fix for someone with more strength/skill than me! It’s a VERY large, heavy cabinet and I’ve struggled to move it about!

The exterior is painted black, with age/wear related scuffs and marks. Each corner is protected with metal flanges. There is a metal plaque with the name F. EVANS stamped on it.

The front panel is hinged 110mm from the base. The central panel of this door has a full width split in the wood.

Inside the chest are five drawers with two amber coloured plastic handles. The drawer internals are all in very good, clean condition. They have a faint smell of workshop. I like that though! The top drawer has inserts for smaller tool organisation.

I bought this without a key for the lock. The hinged front panel closes and stays closed without being locked. I found a key to fit the lock, and it locks ok. But the mechanism was very stiff, and I had to take the lock off and ask someone stronger than me to unlock it for me! I think the lock needs attention. Please be aware of this!
